Rethinking Transport Infrastructure Delivery
This report is a strategic roadmap for boosting productivity in Australia’s transport infrastructure delivery.
As government budgets tighten and demand for new infrastructure continues to grow, it is increasingly essential to deliver better value, faster outcomes, and improved industry capacity.
Roads Australia identifies 17 practical reforms that are within the control of Australian Commonwealth, state and territory governments as well as industry.
Reforms include, but aren’t limited to, greater use of collaborative procurement models, effective management of risks relating to utilities and contamination, harmonisation of standards, an improved process to update standards and steps to minimise disruptions to labour productivity.

On the road to net-zero
In a new national policy platform, Roads Australia has outlined 10 key recommendations to help reduce whole-of-life emissions for transport infrastructure.
Alongside harmonisation of measurement guidance and decision-making frameworks, a central theme is the need to ensure industry has an opportunity to bring forward innovation at multiple stages in the project lifecycle.
